Valerie Franks started dancing at age nine with Carol Thompson at CTSD. She continued dancing at Allegheny Ballet Academy under Deborah Anthony. She performed in Allegheny Ballet Company productions including The Nutcracker and Snow White as well as various spring recitals. She has also taken dance classes at Penn State University. As a student at Juniata Valley High School, Valerie was in show choir. She has maintained active involvement as a choreographer for Show Choir and Select Chorus through 2012. Valerie taught and performed in Nienstedt Germany at Neinstedter Anstalten Kindergarten in March of 2012. Valerie also started the musical theater program for HDA in 2012. Valerie relocated with her daughter to Tampa Florida in 2013. While there, they both were active in the dance company, Mary Jos Performing Dance Academy. In 2014, Valerie had the privilege to perform as Mrs. Stalhbaum in their yearly production of The Nutcracker. She has also had the pleasure to work with Mr. and Mrs. Bilich to choreograph 2019’s musical for Huntingdon Area High School, Catch Me If You Can. Valerie is the mother to DiAnna Reiley.
